Internal Stress Effect in the Shape Memory Behaviour
نویسندگان
چکیده
Internal stress associated with an oriented microstructure of defects are taken into ac count in the thermoelastic balance of martensitic phase transition. From this analysis a macros copic flow rule is determined for the TWME by using a phenomenological approach based on a yield criterion derived from Gibb's free energy expression. Experiments perfor med on a Cu-Zn-A1 polycrystalline alloy trained with a cyclic uniaxial tension test are used for identifying the modelling parameters.

Magnetic shape memory properties of Ni-Mn-Ga single crystals were characterized by measurement of stress-induced martensite reorientation under constant magnetic fields. Also magnetic field-induced strain as a function of the applied magnetic field under different constant compressive stress levels has been investigated. All the experiments were performed at room temperature in which the sample...

The aim of this paper is to analyse the generation of internal stresses during the predeformation of NiTi shape memory alloys in the martensitic state. This allows to determine the initial stress state in which the material will transform during the shape memory effect due to heating coilsecutively to this prestrain. In that way a three-dimensional finite element model of the deformation of sha...

This study presents a new approach to control the nonlinear dynamics of an adaptive absorber using shape memory alloy (SMA) element. Shape memory alloys are classified as smart materials that can remember their original shape after deformation. Stress and temperature-induced phase transformations are two typical behaviors of shape memory alloys. Changing the stiffness associated with phase tran...
